Specialty Applications: (2-3 HRS)

Who should attend: Owners, Foreman and Estimators

Class Description:

This class will cover 4 types of specialty applications. Such as Pool Surrounds, Elevated Patios, Permeable Pavements and Bituminous Setting Pavers, Flowable Fill, Repairs to Pavers. (Pick 4)

This will give you a brief description of the components of each, some estimating basics, and some installation tips. This is an introduction to a more extensive class on each type of installation. Each topic can be covered in individual classes that can range from 1-3 hours in length.

The Commercial Arena: (2 HRS)

Who should attend: Owners, Foreman and Estimators

Class Description:

This class will cover what you can expect to encounter in the commercial arena. We will cove such items as Change Orders, Blueprint Basics, Plan Conflict Resolution, Submittals and the Process and other paper trails. We will discuss the approach to estimating and how to deal with Union and Non-Union projects as well as crew composition. We will also deal with the logistics of material handling and site management. Lastly we will touch on Close-Out procedures.

Class Description:

This class we will cover what is special about mechanical installations. We will talk about what it takes to get into the mechanical installation arena. We will cover how to estimate and how to organize your site for production.


Mock Sales (2 HRS)

Who should attend: Owners, Estimators and Designers

Class Description:

This is a fun class that will cover in-home sales techniques thru Role Playing and other class participation. We will also cover how to use your manufactures provided sales tools, and how to incorporate your CMHA Certified installer knowledge and installation methods into your presentation.

We will go over critical questions to ask that will allow you to pre-qualify your leads.

How to Be More Productive (2 HRS)

Who should attend: Owners, Foreman, Estimators and Designers

Class Description:

This Class will cover the 5 most common Inefficiencies in Hardscaping. The topics covered will be Estimating Inefficiencies, Tools & Equipment, Staffing, Job Layout, and Getting Paid. We will also discuss what can be done to become more efficient with these portions of your business.

Raised Patio Are For Real Contractors (2 – 3 HRS)

Who should attend: Owners, Foreman, Estimators and Designers

Class Description:

A proper base is essential to a great installation. Nowhere is this more important than a Raised Patio application. In this presentation we have combined Advanced Base Installation along with Raised Patio Construction. This class will cover the importance of proper base installation. We will discuss the proper material, proper placement, and proper compaction. We will also look at alternative base materials and their uses. We will discuss basic engineering and how that applies to our everyday installation methods for a proper base. We will also discuss raised patio construction. The discussion will include how to plan out your raised application for maximum efficiency, and how to manage your materials. All of the above will ultimately lead to better quality, better productivity, and more profit.

Estimating Labor and Materials for Segmental Concrete Pavements (1-2 HRS)

Who should attend: Owners, Estimators and Designers

Class Description:

This Course reviews how to make accurate cost approximations of labor hours, materials, equipment and subcontractor costs for a job. We will cover some industry standards for productivity. A good class to take if you want to make sure you will make a profit on your projects

Class Description:

This Course is an entry level introduction to making accurate cost approximations of Labor Hours, Materials, and Overhead assessment for a job. We will cover some industry standards for productivity. A good class to take if you are new to the hardscape contracting business, or a new business owner.

Introduction to the Construction of Permeable Pavements (2-4 HRS)

Who should attend: Owners, Estimators, Foreman and Designers

Class Description:

This course is a must take before you get into the Permeable Paver arena. We will Examines the steps in building permeable interlocking pavements (PICP's) including system components, selection of various types, construction and maintenance best practices with design and layout. We will identify the differences between a PICP and a traditional pavement.

Theory of Base Installation (2 HRS)

Class Description:

This course focuses on understanding and preparing the soil (or subgrade) and base material. It will set the table for the rest of your pavement. Although not an exciting topic, not understanding base installation could be the most costly mistake you make.
